Default Decent Ways To Making Money

Decent Ways To Making Money...do they really exist? This is not one of those "how do you make money" threads. The thing is, I see these people with FoW armor for all their characters and such, and I wonder how they acquire that much money.

Richest I have ever been is about 80k, and that was merely courtesy of a sup abs. Here are my money making techniques:

-Material Farming: Not too great, at least in comparison to other methods.
-Rune Farming: Ettins vary, but it requires luck and wafting through 500 runes worth 25g first.
-Other Farming: I have tried all kinds, it's always about 2k per trip.

Now here is my main question: How do people make money this quickly? I'd be rich if I had a dime for each time I heard someone report all 7 ectos they found on a UW run, or the massive PC questions that end with "it's worth 65k" or something else huge like that. I, for one, am just farming 2k per run, the occasional rune, nothing else. Yet it seems as if everybody else knows of a way to get money at a faster rate, or they are just ridiculously lucky.

At times, I feel that you're forced to make a 55 monk to farm decently. Even my W/Mo cannot farm well (trolls are ish, griffons nerfed, that leaves little but the griffons in vulture, which drop things much worse than their prophet's cousins, and the occasional wurm). So tell me, is there any way for efficient farming? Or is blindly making 2k per run until hitting something of good value all you need to do?. Because it sure feels like there is more to that. A good alternative I bet would be to do FoW and UW runs, as that's where most of these items come from. But Europe constantly has favor nowadays, even when by their timezones, it's like 4AM.

This was a combination of a question and a mini-rant. Thank you for your time.

of course that isn't a decent but I garuantee you a lot of players buy gold and items for this game w/real cash online. there are various sites to use (far better than ebay), it happens with almost all online rpg type games. I've never done this so I've accepted the fact that I'll always be broke because I don't have 40 hours a week to spend farming unlike some people around here.

I never expected the majority of the gaming community to be that...*ahem*...lazy. Does anybody here have a suggestion NOT related to ebay/other sites?

FoW, UW, or Tombs.

Tombs is always open and in a B/P group, it can be done in under and hour, easily netting 3 - 4k each run, even without getting a green drop.

One thing I do when material farming - I always expert salvage armor drops.

Yes, I've been neglecting tombs...I could use my ranger for B/P. I just am a bit hesitant in it, since my first few B/P groups had...less than warm players and plenty of flamers. Europe always has the favor these days, cutting down on FoW and UW, unfortunately.

I can farm okay in FoW...one aggro of the skales pretty much destroys me though. Once again, however, it is nothing like the prophet's griffons that had been there for us 24/7. We need the favor for that...and lately the favor distribution I'd say is like 65% Europe, 25% America, 10% Korea. No more 50/50 equality.

Contrary to popular belief, no one gets rich by farming. Not anymore at least. Soloing FoW nets 20K max on average, occasional good drop notwithstanding. Duo run in UW are about the same. Many claim to make a bundle powertrading, but those superb deals are few and far between. Most people who get a nice drop are now smart enough to get it PCed first. That pretty much leaves running and ebay. And by running I mean becoming one of the elite runners in the game. Any schmuk can run beacons to droks for 3K a head. You don't get rich doing that anymore either. Ascension, South Shiverpeaks and the Fire Island missions have the potential to make someone quite wealthy. But you need to be able to do them everytime with just hench, and have the reputation to be able to charge, and receive, quite high prices.

Default yes sir

I don't want to give my farming spot away, but to not get bored of the game, i set goals and limits as to what I do. For onething... getting black armor is the best thing I have ever done. Once you get black armor, you dont change the color, unless your DUUUUUUURRRR, I sware I have spent over 300k on dyes.

well its pure luck.
u dont have to buy gold on e-bay for ur fow armor i agree its easier but anyway if u're playing alot and if u have diff chars (not only wammo) u know what drops u can sell for 10-100k and what u have to merchant. i think few month ago it was really easy to craft fow armor/multiple 15k sets - un-id chaos axes req 8 were oh so easy to sell and gold storm bows and all cute-looking shields and ghostly staves 10/10 req 8 smiting or 20/20 fire magic hehe
few month ago SF greens were quite profitable as well.
for now i dunno what to say... chest runs mb? but u have to spend alot on keys be4 u actually get smth nice and easy to sell, so we're talking about gambling here, not all ppl are into it.
dreadnought drifts chests got nerfed, no gold sephis axes from them anymore...

perfect gold weapons with rare skins and upgrade parts (like 20%ench staff wraps and +30hp hilts)

edit: but anyway i dont think that u can sell anything rare-skinned and perfect for same huge money as 2-3 month ago - evrbdy's waiting for factions release, new weapons, new mods and such, so ppl are saving gold for new chars' equipment...

Buying GW gold online, if you think about it is the most time/cost effective way of getting large amounts of gold quickly.

About ten dollars buys 100k so even a job at the local supermarket pays around there every hour. If you where to farm or buy low and sell high you would at best on average be netting that amount.

Whether you find sitting at your computer farming the same mobs over and over stimulating or reading though spam at the cities or going though the trade forums here worthwhile is a personal choice.

Of course there are exceptions, such as some who provide services e.g running, and luck to farming and trading that will turn some people rich overnight, but on average i can work for one week and have enough money to never need to farm or worry about gold for a long time, but then again i can just be content with my droks armour and green and collector weapons and be as well off as anyone in game none of which needed much gold at all, and enjoy the game just as much : )

I would say that the best way is just to keep farming higher level mobs. Pick up everything and learn what materials and how much of them different items salvage to. Sell or salvage any drops, trade Shiverpeaks collector drops for the collector's items (makes them worth 25g instead of 8). As long as you farm in the higher level areas, you'll pick up some good items or at least upgrades every now and then.
I can make around 10k/h pretty easily with my ranger not counting any drops i sell to other players.

I made quite a bit of cash by doing 4-5 man Orozar and FA runs, then selling the greens that dropped.

I think the drop rate in SF has decreased now, and green prices are much lower than they were.

UW duo is the fastest way. I know you have favour problems, but by only doing 3-4 20 mins runs per night i was able to afford FoW armour after about a month, so if you actually got yourself to go full farming then i'm sure you could make a grea deal of money

Manipulating the Ecto market. You'll need a start (though it can be as small as 100k), but it's incredibly easy to do if you know your timezones well.

However, it's damn boring.

Thanks, good to see some people who are not suggesting the eBay strategy. My ranger made enough money for full 15k armor over the course of about five days on ettins...but it's those runs when they drop nothing good that I wonder if I'm wasting my time out there.

Vanquisher - Think a shard/rune market would work well, too? Or rather, just about anything that has varying prices.

Playing legit with other players, in high level areas.

- FoW
- UW
- Tombs
- SF
- Ring of Fire Islands (not really, since it isn't repeatable)
